YachtBox

An AI post-race debrief for keelboat crews. After every race, it turns your own boat's instrument data into a clear, useful debrief — with the Garmin and B&G gear you already carry. No proprietary hardware to buy.

The difference

Bring your own instruments

The competitive wedge is simple: YachtBox works with what you already have.

Most performance systems make you buy into their hardware — new processors, new displays, a new ecosystem. YachtBox doesn't. It reads the Garmin and B&G instruments already fitted to the boats crews race, so the barrier to a professional-grade debrief is a piece of software, not a refit.

Support is delivered by an AI agent, so it stays affordable and responsive at fleet scale — the economics of software, applied to a job that used to need a person.

Proven where it counts

Developed and proven on the Invicta programme.

We build YachtBox on our own Melges 40 and test it on ourselves first — it has to change how our crew races before it earns a place in anyone else's boat. That's the Invicta Labs model.

How it works

Record, process, debrief

Three steps, no new hardware ecosystem — from the instruments on your boat to a debrief you can actually use.

  1. 01

    Record

An off-the-shelf NMEA 2000 voyage recorder captures your instrument and position data through the race — from the Garmin or B&G system already on your boat. Nothing proprietary to install.

  2. 02

    Process

The data runs through a deterministic metrics pipeline that turns raw logs into the numbers that actually explain the race — starts, manoeuvres, speed and angle against the fleet.

  3. 03

    Debrief

You get a clear, AI-generated post-race debrief after each race — the kind of review a professional analyst would write, delivered while it still matters.

Frequently asked questions

What is YachtBox?
YachtBox is an AI post-race debrief platform for keelboat racing crews. After each race it turns your own boat's instrument and position data into a clear, useful debrief — the kind of analysis that normally needs a dedicated performance analyst — so your crew can learn faster, race to race.
Do I need to buy special hardware?
No — that's the point. YachtBox is bring-your-own-instruments: it works with the Garmin and B&G instrument systems most racing boats already carry, capturing data through an inexpensive off-the-shelf NMEA 2000 voyage recorder. Systems like Sailmon and Vakaros require you to buy and fit their own hardware; YachtBox doesn't.
Who is YachtBox for?
Keelboat racing crews — professional, semi-professional and experienced amateur. If you race with instruments and want to understand your races properly without hiring an analyst or buying a new hardware ecosystem, it's built for you.
Is it available yet?
YachtBox is being developed and proven on the Invicta Melges 40 programme now — we use it on our own racing before we offer it to anyone else. It opens up to the fleet soon; register your interest and we'll give you first access when it does.
